President Yoweri Museveni, also the NRM national chairman is expected in Arua Municipality today to drum up support for the party flag bearer Nusura Tiperu.

According to the NRM Secretary General Justice Lumumba Kasule, the president will address two rallies, one in each of the two Divisions of Arua Hill and River Oil.

Senior party officials led by Central Executive Committee Members Sam Engola have been camped in the district for nearly two weeks to canvass support.

Meanwhile the former FDC party president Dr Kiiza Besigye is also camped in Arua in a last minute vote hunt for their flag bearer Bruce Musema ahead of Wednesday’s parliamentary bi election.

Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi has also joined a group of opposition politicians including senior FDC members in supporting former MP Kasiano Wadri, an independent.

The Arua Municipality by-election race has attracted 12 candidates. The seat fell vacant following the death of the area MP Ibrahim Abiriga.
