The directors of motor Care Uganda Ltd have this morning appeared before court, over charges arising from a CHOGM procurement deal.

Klaus Karstensein and Per Lundgren have appeared together with former Vice President Prof. Gilbert Bukenya and pleaded not guilty.

The two, who are of Danish origin, together with Bukenya face charges of abuse of office and fraudulent practice.

Prof. Bukenya is accused of conniving with Motor Care Uganda Limited to fraudulently award them the contract of supply of 80 Units of BMW cars and police outrider motorcycles ahead of the Common Wealth Heads of Government Meeting in 2007.

They appeared before Justice Paul Mugambwa and the hearing of the case is now set to kick off on 25th November.
