The construction of the second Nile Bridge is set for December 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Uganda National Roads Authority says it has finalized the process to kick start the multi-billion project.<\/span><\/p>\n

The acting executive director of UNRA Ssebbugga Kimeze says <\/span>o<\/span><\/strong>nce construction gets underway it will take up to four years to complete the works including the construction of several new access roads.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kimeze notes that more than half of the property owners affected by the project have already been compensated.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once the new bridge is ready, traffic flow will be eased for motorists travelling from the Kenyan port city of Mombasa into Uganda and beyond.<\/span><\/p>\n
