Uganda has improved in parliament performance, according to the 2nd<\/sup> Africa Parliamentary Index.<\/span><\/p>\n

The report assesses performance of Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Benin, Ghana, Senegal and Zambia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Uganda\u2019s parliament scored 82.9%, up from 80.6% in 2010.<\/span><\/p>\n

Uganda performed highly in legislative and financial functions given the active participation in the budget process.<\/span><\/p>\n

On representation through articulation of constituents\u2019 issues and institutional capacity the performance was moderate.<\/span><\/p>\n

However oversight in holding government accountable, transparency and integrity ranked low.<\/span><\/p>\n

The report to be launched by the deputy speaker Jacob Oulanya also gives Kenya 73% up from 69%, while Tanzania dropped to 71% from 74% in 2010.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
