The Anti-Corruption Court has issued Criminal Summons to John Wetanga,\u00a0 the Farm Manager to\u00a0 the former State Minister for Karamoja Affairs Agnes Nandutu; ordering him to appear\u00a0 on July ,1st, 2024\u00a0 and testify against his boss in the iron sheet case .<\/p>\n
Former Minister and also Bududa District Woman MP is accused of diverting 2000 pieces of iron sheets Iron Sheets meant for Karamoja Community Empowerment Programs.<\/p>\n
Prosecution states that\u00a0 Wetanga is a credible witness\u00a0 who was present during a search\u00a0 at –\u00a0 Kkola Cell\u00a0 Bulwanyi Parish in\u00a0 Mukono District\u00a0 on 24th\/ March\/2023\u00a0 where Police recovered\u00a0 1,617 iron sheets from\u00a0 Nandutu\u2019s Farm House.<\/p>\n
However, according to Prosecution\u2019s David Bisamunyu, the said Witness John Wetanga has refused to come to court to testify.<\/p>\n
Bisamunyu informed presiding Judge Jane Okuo Kajuga that he is remaining with three more Prosecution Witnesses to close his case against Nandutu.<\/p>\n
The pending witnesses are, the Investigating Officer Jennifer Nakatudde who is nursing an operation having given birth by ceaserian; and John Wetanga who has become elusive.<\/p>\n
It is against this background that Justice Kajuga advised Prosecution to use the available means under the Law to have the said witness compelled; and Bisamunyu applied to Court Wetanga\u00a0 summoned.<\/p>\n
So far eight Prosecution Witnesses have testified against Nandutu.<\/p>\n
Nandutu\u00a0 is battling charges of Dealing with suspect property of 2000 iron sheet she allegedly received from the Prime Minister\u2019s Office at Namanve stores in Mukono District in June\/2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
