A total\u00a0 of 20 security officials from the ten countries that form the East\u00a0 Africa Stand by Force\u00a0 (EASF) completed a two week’s advanced training of trainers\u00a0 and mentoring course conducted in Kampala.<\/p>\n
Countries that took part of training include Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Seychelles, Comoros and Sudan.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a closing ceremony during which graduands were awarded certificates,\u00a0 retired Brigadier General Paul Kahuria Njema the director EASF secretariat urged participants to always embrace change, and\u00a0 to work as a team ready to give and receive feedback freely.<\/p>\n

He also commended the Ugandan government for championing peace initiatives.<\/p>\n

EASF\u00a0formerly\u00a0Eastern Africa Standby Brigade\u00a0(EASBRIG), is one of the five regional forces for Peace Support Operations (PSOs) of the\u00a0African Standby Force, consisting of military, police and civilian components.<\/p>\n
The Uganda People\u2019s Defence Forces \u2013UPDF was among the East African troops sent to provide peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in 2023.<\/p>\n
