A 24-year-old resident of\u00a0Luma Village,\u00a0Bunanimi\u00a0Parish\u00a0in Busoba\u00a0Sub County,\u00a0Mbale District\u00a0was Sunday evening lynched by a mob after he allegedly killed his grandfather.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lauben\u00a0Wamimbi, reportedly hacked his grandfather, Abimeric\u00a0Wamateke, 78, with a panga for yet to be known reasons. This angered the residents, who hunted him down and lynched him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Elgon regional Police Spokesperson, Rogers Taitika, confirmed the incident saying preliminary investigations indicate that Wamimbi was mentally ill.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u00a0(Wamimbi)\u00a0who was suffering from a mental illness picked\u00a0a panga and cut his grandfather several times on the head and on the legs as he was laying on the bed\u00a0and died\u00a0instantly.\u00a0\u00a0After the act Wamimbi disappeared from the home but was later got and beaten to death,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
