Kenya’s presidential candidate Raila Odinga Tuesday afternoon “without reservation rejected the election results announced August 15 as Kenya’s electoral body proclaimed William Ruto as president-elect.<\/p>\n

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chief\u00a0Wafula Chebukati proclaimed that Ruto won with\u00a050.49 per cent\u00a0of\u00a0the vote against veteran politician Odinga\u2019s 48.5 per cent\u00a0.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“The figures are null and void and must be quashed by the courts of law. What we saw yesterday was a travesty and a blatant disregard of the constitution of Kenya by Mr\u00a0Chebukati,” Raila told a press conference at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
