{"id":53020,"date":"2022-01-10T14:00:34","date_gmt":"2022-01-10T11:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kfm.co.ug\/?p=53020"},"modified":"2022-01-10T12:39:55","modified_gmt":"2022-01-10T09:39:55","slug":"deputy-speaker-pays-tribute-to-former-bushenyi-mp-arinda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kfm.dembefm.ug\/staging_h\/deputy-speaker-pays-tribute-to-former-bushenyi-mp-arinda\/","title":{"rendered":"Deputy Speaker pays tribute to former Bushenyi MP Arinda"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span data-originalfontsize=\"14pt\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"18.66666603088379\">By Zadock Amanyisa<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-originalfontsize=\"14pt\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"18.66666603088379\">The Deputy Speaker of Parliament has paid glowing tribute to the former Bushenyi-Ishaka Member of Parliament, Gordon Arinda Kakuuma aka Cowboy, who succumbed to Covid-19 last evening.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Anita Among has described Arinda as a dedicated leader who served his people and country in the tenth parliament with dedication.<\/p>\n<p>Other leaders including Bushenyi district woman Member of Parliament, Annette Katusiime describes Arinda as a kind man whose resource mobilization skills were unmatched as a leader.<\/p>\n<p><span data-originalfontsize=\"14pt\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"18.66666603088379\">While the Bishop of West Ankole Diocese, Rt Rev Johnson Twinomujuni says Arinda was a leader who promoted peaceful co-existence of politicians regardless of party affiliation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-originalfontsize=\"14pt\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"18.66666603088379\">According to close family members, Arinda contracted the Covid-19 during the Christmas holidays, and his health deteriorated towards the end of the year. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-originalfontsize=\"14pt\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"18.66666603088379\">He was admitted to different hospitals where his condition worsened before being transferred to Mbarara Regional referral hospital where he breathed his last from the Intensive Care Unit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-originalfontsize=\"14pt\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"18.66666603088379\">Arinda is remembered by the people of Bushenyi and the tenth parliament as a champion of the national health insurance policy whose coming into force he has not lived to see. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-originalfontsize=\"14pt\" data-originalcomputedfontsize=\"18.66666603088379\">He is survived by one wife and four children who were out of the country at the time of his death.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Zadock Amanyisa The Deputy Speaker of Parliament has paid glowing tribute to the former Bushenyi-Ishaka Member of Parliament, Gordon Arinda Kakuuma aka Cowboy, who succumbed to Covid-19 last evening.
