The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has criticized president Museveni\u2019s request for Shs1 trillion to facilitate his new parish development model saying tax payers\u2019 money should not be \u00a0wasted in unpopular wealth schemes.<\/span><\/p>\n

While addressing the NRM caucus meeting at Kololo ceremonial grounds on Friday last week, the president who is also the NRM national chairman directed NRM leaders to ensure Shs 100m is allocated to each parish in the country\u00a0each year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The president explained that initial development programs\u00a0did not succeed because decisions were made by government leaders on behalf of the stakeholders but this did not give the desired results hence the shift.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, addressing journalists at the FDC headquarters in Najjanankumbi today, the party spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda warned\u00a0NRM MPs and Parliament in general against risking\u00a0taxpayers\u2019\u00a0money again in unplanned ventures.<\/p>\n

According to Ssemujju, the country has not recovered from\u00a0the fraud reported with the Emyooga\u00a0<\/strong>Funds the President entrusted\u00a0with RDCs.<\/span><\/p>\n


\nHe says \u00a0parliament budgeted for\u00a0Shs250 billion for\u00a0Emyooga\u00a0and this money cannot be accounted for and its effect on the population has not been felt, so another 1 trillion should not be wasted the same way.<\/span><\/p>\n
