Several journalists are nursing injuries after they were attacked by security operatives at Kololo this afternoon.<\/p>\n

The journalists were among the scores who were covering the NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi as he delivered a petition to the UN Human Rights office over the alleged kidnap of the party supporters.<\/p>\n

The affected journalists include Nation Media Group\u2019s John Cliff Wamala, Irene Abalo, and photojournalist Micheal Kakumirizi.<\/p>\n

Abalo twisted her ankle as she fled from police officers who were pursuing her. She tried to seek refuge in a moving NTV van but she could not escape them.<\/p>\n

Wamala who sustained a serious deep cut on the head has undergone minor surgery at the International Diagnostic Center along Yusuf Lule Road in Kololo.<\/p>\n
