{"id":4137,"date":"2012-11-02T08:32:19","date_gmt":"2012-11-02T05:32:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kfm.co.ug\/?p=4137"},"modified":"2012-11-02T08:32:19","modified_gmt":"2012-11-02T05:32:19","slug":"mbabazi-takes-on-un-on-congo-accusations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kfm.dembefm.ug\/staging_h\/mbabazi-takes-on-un-on-congo-accusations\/","title":{"rendered":"Mbabazi takes on UN on Congo accusations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kfm.co.ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/Amama-Mbabazi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4138\" title=\"Amama Mbabazi\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kfm.co.ug\/wp-content\/uploads\/Amama-Mbabazi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"184\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi has dismissed reports implicating Uganda for supporting the M-23 a rebel group in eastern DR Congo war.<\/p>\n<p>Mbabazi told MPs yesterday that Uganda\u2019s involvement in the fight between M-23 and the DR CONGO army is a mandate received from the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that the president of Uganda was contacted by the UN Secretary General and the president of DR Congo Joseph Kabila requesting for his intervention.<\/p>\n<p>He adds that the people who conducted research were just amateurs but not experts as claimed by UN since they even failed to talk to the senior officials in the army.<\/p>\n<p>Mbabazi explains that Uganda has been supporting the UN in its efforts to ensure peace in the region by even offering its facilities free of charge in some cases.<\/p>\n<p>He challenges the UN to come out and clear Uganda\u2019s name regarding such allegations.<\/p>\n<p>In the said report by UN experts, Uganda is accused providing support to the M-23 rebels in the form of direct troop reinforcement in DRC territory, weapon deliveries, technical assistance, joint planning, political advice and facilitation of external relations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi has dismissed reports implicating Uganda for supporting the M-23 a rebel group in eastern DR Congo war.
