{"id":37700,"date":"2018-10-03T15:54:27","date_gmt":"2018-10-03T12:54:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kfm.co.ug\/?p=37700"},"modified":"2018-10-03T15:54:27","modified_gmt":"2018-10-03T12:54:27","slug":"sheikh-mwanjes-lawyers-want-bail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kfm.dembefm.ug\/staging_h\/sheikh-mwanjes-lawyers-want-bail\/","title":{"rendered":"Sheikh Mwanje&#8217;s lawyers want bail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>By Ruth Anderah.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The legal team representing Sheikh Yahaya Mwanje, who is alleged to have participated in the murder of Major Muhammad Kiggundu, has asked the High Court\u2019s International Crimes Division with urgency to fix his bail application.<\/p>\n<p>Muwema and company Advocates who are Mwanje\u2019s lawyers have decided to take that route because in August Justice Duncan Gaswaga put a plug on Mwanje\u2019s bail hearing and instead ordered that the main trial should start not later than September 30.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Gaswaga also ordered the Directorate of Public Prosecutions to disclose all evidence they intend to rely on during trial to Mwanje\u2019s advocates, but since then his orders have been largely ignored.<\/p>\n<p>The former acting Tabliq leader, Mwanje52years and three others are accused of murdering Major Muhammad Kiggundu and his body guard SGT Stephen Mukasatwo years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecution states that on November 26<sup>th<\/sup> 2016 at Masanafu trading Center in Rubaga Division-Kampala District the assailants traveling on a bodaboda ended up Kiggundu\u2019s life by shooting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ruth Anderah.
