{"id":35022,"date":"2018-05-22T05:23:07","date_gmt":"2018-05-22T05:23:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kfm.co.ug\/?p=35022"},"modified":"2018-05-22T05:23:07","modified_gmt":"2018-05-22T05:23:07","slug":"ugandas-embassy-in-algeria-accounts-frozen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kfm.dembefm.ug\/staging_h\/ugandas-embassy-in-algeria-accounts-frozen\/","title":{"rendered":"Uganda\u2019s embassy in Algeria accounts frozen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>By Thembo Kahungu.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The ministry of foreign Affairs has frozen accounts of Uganda\u2019s embassy in Algeria until a forensic audit is carried out to assess how finances disbursed by the government are spent by the mission.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was communicated in a May 14<sup>th<\/sup> letter issued by James Kintu an undersecretary in the ministry of foreign affairs on behalf of the Permanent Secretary Patrick Mugoya.<\/p>\n<p>In the letter, Kintu directed that neither the ambassador, AlintumaNsambu nor his staff should spend any money until the auditors arrive in Algiers at the end of this month.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kintu, the decision was taken following several complaints from AmbasadorNsambu and the embassy accounting Officer Fred Tushabe, accusing each other of financial impropriety.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Thembo Kahungu.
