{"id":34823,"date":"2018-05-14T12:07:24","date_gmt":"2018-05-14T12:07:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kfm.co.ug\/?p=34823"},"modified":"2018-05-14T12:07:24","modified_gmt":"2018-05-14T12:07:24","slug":"former-adf-leader-mukulu-further-remanded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kfm.dembefm.ug\/staging_h\/former-adf-leader-mukulu-further-remanded\/","title":{"rendered":"Former ADF leader Mukulu further remanded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>By Ruth Anderah.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The International Crimes Division court has adjourned a pre-trial hearing session of former ADF leader Jamiru Mukulu to the 28<sup>th<\/sup> of May 2018.<\/p>\n<p>This is after the DPP asked court\u00a0for more 2 weeks within which to\u00a0disclose all evidence he intends to adduce against Mukuluand\u00a0his37 co-accused.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant DPP John Bapstist Asiimwe also\u00a0informed presiding judge Eva Luswata that the office of the\u00a0DPP has just received some physical and documentary\u00a0evidence from Tanzania 2 months back and adequate\u00a0time is\u00a0needed to analyze it before it&#8217;s\u00a0served\u00a0to the defence lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>Asiimwe also said the 2 weeks will enable them prepare and present an amended charge -sheet in court to include all the 39 suspects, make applications of witness protection measures and also get in touch with the victims.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Luswata has now ordered that all evidence disclosures and viewing of exbhits by\u00a0defense\u00a0lawyers be made by not later than May22<sup>nd<\/sup>2018.<\/p>\n<p>The judge has also directed the registrar of the court to avail state facilitated lawyers to some of the suspects who cannot afford to pay for their own.<\/p>\n<p>The group including a woman\u00a0are facing charges of terrorism, murder, crimes against humanity, aiding and abetting terrorism, attempted murder and aggravated robbery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ruth Anderah.
