{"id":34299,"date":"2018-04-16T13:15:52","date_gmt":"2018-04-16T13:15:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kfm.co.ug\/?p=34299"},"modified":"2018-04-16T13:15:52","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T13:15:52","slug":"bobi-wine-case-pushed-to-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kfm.dembefm.ug\/staging_h\/bobi-wine-case-pushed-to-june\/","title":{"rendered":"Bobi\u00a0Wine case pushed to June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>By Ruth Anderah.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The case in which Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu commonly known as\u00a0Bobi\u00a0Wine\u00a0filed before the High Court over a ban imposed on his musical shows by the\u00a0Uganda Police force has been pushed to June 4<sup>th<\/sup> this year.<\/p>\n<p>The adjournment follows his lawyer\u2019s failure to appear before Court to argue the suit that filed on 19th October 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Bobi\u00a0Wine contends that\u00a0all his adult\u00a0life he has been earning a living through\u00a0live music performances until on 8th \/October 2017 when police banned his shows while quoting security concerns something\u00a0Bobi\u00a0Wine\u00a0claims is in blunt-ant violation of his right to work\u00a0 and freedoms to speech, liberty\u00a0 and movement.<\/p>\n<p>Through\u00a0renowned Human rights lawyer Ladislous Rwakafuuzi, Bobi\u00a0Wine\u00a0says he has since lost 300 million shillings for his cancelled shows at Collin Hotel Mukono, Kamuli, Busoga\u00a0and in Kasese district where he had been invited and paid 20 million by his fellow legislator Jackson Mbaju to perform for his supporters in Busongora South County.<\/p>\n<p>The banned shows we&#8217;re supposed to take place between 12th\/ and 21st \/October 2017 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>According to the plaint, the\u00a0claimed\u00a0300 million shillings arise\u00a0out of partial payments music\u00a0promoters had made\u00a0to\u00a0Bobi\u00a0Wine\u00a0and numerous advertisements inform of banners and posters that were plucked down by police men and crime preventers.<\/p>\n<p>Now\u00a0Bobi\u00a0Wine\u00a0seeks prohibition orders against the Attorney General and the\u00a0x-Kampala Metropolitan police commander Frank Mesigwa whom he accuses of threatening to end his music career\u00a0from permanently interfering in his stage performances.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ruth Anderah.\u00a0 The case in which Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu commonly known as\u00a0Bobi\u00a0Wine\u00a0filed before the High Court over a ban imposed on his musical shows by the\u00a0Uganda Police force has been pushed to June 4th this year.
