{"id":33867,"date":"2018-03-28T10:07:42","date_gmt":"2018-03-28T10:07:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kfm.co.ug\/?p=33867"},"modified":"2018-03-28T10:07:42","modified_gmt":"2018-03-28T10:07:42","slug":"veteran-journalist-rev-bakka-further-remanded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kfm.dembefm.ug\/staging_h\/veteran-journalist-rev-bakka-further-remanded\/","title":{"rendered":"Veteran journalist Rev Bakka further remanded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Ruth Anderah.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Veteran journalist Rev.Isaac Bakka has further been remanded to Luzira upper prison as police continues to investigate the treason case against him.<\/p>\n<p>68 year old Bakka, a freelance\u00a0Tele -journalist working with BTN and Nile FM in Gulu has been sent back by Nakawa Magistrates court.<\/p>\n<p>He is alleged to have been kidnapped\u00a0in January this year at\u00a0a taxi stage in Mukono by\u00a0unknown people.<\/p>\n<p>However after a long search by his family members, friends and intervention of parliament, security agencies later admitted to having picked\u00a0up Bakka and stealthily took him\u00a0to Nakawa court where he was charged with treason and remanded him\u00a0to Luzira prison.<\/p>\n<p>Today Bakka alongside his 3 co- accused have\u00a0appeared before chief magistrate Jamson Karemani for mention of this case but state prosecutor Ann Ntimba has\u00a0informed court\u00a0that police inquiries into the case are still-going.<\/p>\n<p>The case has now been adjourned to the April 11th 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecution states that\u00a0Bakka\u00a0connived with a one Godfrey Asea, George Ngungu and Innocent Mawe to contrive a plot to overthrow the government of Uganda\u00a0between January 2017 and January 2018 within various districts in Uganda and\u00a0in other countries\u00a0such as Kenya and South Sudan.<\/p>\n<p>That\u00a0 the group expressed this plot through making\u00a0utterances , acquisition of firearms, recruitment of individuals into armed forces and renting of apartments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ruth Anderah.
