{"id":33718,"date":"2018-03-22T12:26:04","date_gmt":"2018-03-22T12:26:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kfm.co.ug\/?p=33718"},"modified":"2018-03-22T12:27:20","modified_gmt":"2018-03-22T12:27:20","slug":"high-court-judge-orders-prosecution-to-close-treason-case-against-muslim-suspects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kfm.dembefm.ug\/staging_h\/high-court-judge-orders-prosecution-to-close-treason-case-against-muslim-suspects\/","title":{"rendered":"High Court judge orders prosecution to close treason case against Muslim suspects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>By Ruth Anderah.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>High Court judge Wilson Masalu Musene has ordered prosecution to close a treason case against a set of 19 Muslim suspects for its\u00a0failure to produce witnesses in court this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Sofa nine witnesses testified in this case and now both parties prosecution and defence are going to submit on no case to answer.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects including doctor Aggrey Kiyingi&#8217;s sister in-law Aisha Nakasibante are facing two counts of treason and concealment of treason where they are\u00a0 said to have contrived a\u00a0 plot to over throw the government of Uganda by use of firearms\u00a0 between years;\u00a0\u00a0 2013 and\u00a0 2015 at various places in Uganda , Dubai , Kenya and Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecution\u00a0 further states that the accused expressed this plot through\u00a0 utterances , recruitment and training of rebels,\u00a0 acquiring\u00a0 satellite mobile phones for communication, motorcycles\u00a0 and vehicles for transport and also rented houses to act as safe houses to accomplish their mission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ruth Anderah.\u00a0 High Court judge Wilson Masalu Musene has ordered prosecution to close a treason case against a set of 19 Muslim suspects for its\u00a0failure to produce witnesses in court this morning.
