Uganda has indicated that it could support Kenya’s nominee for the African Union Chair, Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed.<\/p>\n
This comes as some East African Community member states remain undecided on who to front as candidate to vie for the position of chairman of the Africa Union Commission.<\/p>\n
The nomination process was opened afresh after the AU Heads of State Summit in Kigali Rwanda failed to choose a successor to South Africa\u2019s Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma who has been chairperson since 2012.<\/p>\n
At the Kigali summit none of the three candidates including Uganda\u2019s former Vice President Dr. Specioza Wandira Kazibwe obtained the required 2 thirds majority after seven rounds of voting.<\/p>\n
