Democratic Party president Nobert Mao has petitioned the Constitutional Court seeking orders restraining the Electoral Commission from conducting Parliamentary elections for Gulu Municipality.<\/p>\n
Mao also wants court to declare that it was unconstitutional for the commission to compel him to produce a National\u00a0Identification card before being nominated.<\/p>\n
He says the Commission has no powers to retire an entire voters\u2019 register as its mandate is to compile, maintain and update it.<\/p>\n
Mao thus wants court to compel the commission to re-instate the voters register utilized for the 2011 general elections for use in the 2016 polls.<\/p>\n
