Forum for Democratic Change presidential candidate has castigated police chief, Gen. Kale Kayihura\u2019s declaration that he will arm crime preventers to protect the NRM government.
\nDr.Besigye, who is addressing a rally at Bukomansimbi District grounds, says the IGP\u2019s conduct confirms the public long-held concern that he believes more in the survival of NRM than the stability of the country.
\nBesigye\u2019s scathing attack on the IGP follows media reports that were attributed to Kayihura that he would not allow the opposition to takeover after the February 18 general elections.
\nKayihura is said to have made the remarks while passing out a group of crime preventers in Kapchorwa District last weekend, but the police has since rubbished the reports saying they false and ill-intentioned.<\/p>\n
Addressing a news conference on Thursday afternoon on behalf of the police chief, the Director Inter-pol Uganda has also defended his boss saying he was quoted out of contest.<\/p>\n
